Revisited: Editing Goals for 2025 - We Did it!
Helpful citizens of the world, we’ve done it!
My editing goal for 2025 was to edit, review or proofread at least 1,600,000 words, and I’ve surpassed that now. In fact, by the end of the calendar year, I should have over 2,200,000.
Thank you SO much to anyone who scheduled an edit themselves, or put out the word and inspired others to consider Bright Owl Edits.
Here’s the summary of what business looked like this year:
36 rounds of edits (samples, edits, proofreads or consultations) for
27 separate manuscripts, reports or documents, belonging to
15 different clients, 9 of whom were new, with 6 repeat or return clients
Amazing! I’m both proud and grateful for their trust. Many of the authors above have released their books throughout the year. I’ll be doing my next blog post on the subject of holiday shopping ideas (spoiler: I recommend my clients’ books!), and I’m just waiting until the Black Friday releases hit - a couple of my clients are aiming for that date, and I want to include them.
If you have a book that's in the works for 2026, get in touch and we'll discuss your preferred time slot. If you don't personally need my services in the coming year, I would be very grateful if you would forward this post on to your contacts to widen its distribution.
Here’s to a successful year!

Photo is of a hand holding a bright red maple leaf. For anyone who hasn’t been to Eastern North America in fall, and thought that the Canadian flag must be using a stylized colour, you can see that they actually do get that bright. (And yes, I’m Canadian. Colour has a “u” here. If it doesn’t where you live, I’ll make sure that it’s spelled the way your readers expect in your book.)
