Editing Goals for 2026 - This Year’s Challenge and Request for Help

I was trying to find a picture of a superhero that didn’t look too “brand name,” but nothing struck me. Then I saw this owl! Totally giving the vibes I was looking for. (yeah, I’m not current on young-people slang. I’ll look it up if a book needs it.) You can practically see the cape and mask. Not absolutely certain, but I think it’s a short-eared owl. Please feel free to correct me if you know better.

New year, new projects! So far, I’ve done a small DE, and a proofread is in the works once again. What are you working on?

Helpful citizens of the world, your response to last year’s request for help resulted in a record year for Bright Owl Edits. Thank you again. The goal of 1,600,000 words edited, proofread or reviewed was surpassed, finishing up at 2,332,500 words!! We did it, and it would not have been possible without your help.

The fourth quarter of 2025 in particular, was quite busy, and accounted for more than half of the total. With that in mind, my ambition continues to grow. Can you help me with a new, higher goal, for 2026? I truly think that together, we can achieve an even more impressive total this year. Can we try for 3,000,000 words?
